You will coordinate board meetings and international high-level meetings, monitor governance action points and statutory deadlines, and support board member onboarding and development. Acting as the Accessibility Focal Point, you will help ensure inclusive and accessible governance practices. In addition, you will support innovation initiatives that strengthen and modernize governance processes across the organization.

About the Role
As our Compliance & Governance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth governance operations across the organization. You will coordinate board meetings and international high-level meetings, monitor governance action points and statutory deadlines, and support board member onboarding and development. Acting as the Accessibility Focal Point, you will help ensure inclusive and accessible governance practices. In addition, you will support innovation initiatives that strengthen and modernize governance processes across the organization.
Your tasks
Organize and coordinate board meetings, assemblies, and international high-level meetings (online and in-person), including agenda preparation, documentation management, and stakeholder coordination
Prepare meeting minutes, document key decisions, and monitor follow-up actions to ensure timely implementation and proper record keeping
Ensure timely statutory filings and monitor compliance with internal and external governance deadlines across legal entities
Coordinate board member onboarding and offboarding processes, including due diligence and compliance checks
Maintain governance-related communication channels, compliance documentation, and board information databases
Serve as the primary administrative contact for board members and support board development and engagement activities
Act as Accessibility Focal Point by reviewing governance documents and events for accessibility and providing guidance to internal stakeholders
Support the planning and monitoring of governance budgets and expenses
Coordinate internal workshops, meetings, and special governance-related projects for the CEO and Head of Governance & Compliance
Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance governance processes and collaboration practices
Your profile
3–5 years of experience in governance, compliance, corporate administration, or a similar role, ideally within an international NGO or legal environment
Understanding of governance and legal frameworks relevant to NGOs is an asset.
Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic international environment
Proficiency in MS Teams and other collaboration and meeting management tools
